guitar pro 5 mac torrent
It is something I can't stress enough. guitar pro 5 mac torrentMany people play the guitar a long time before they master how to hold the instrument properly and some never do. So how do you hold it?
How you don't hold the guitar
First thing every beginner does is grab the guitar neck with their left hand and hold it up. Wrong! The left hand's job is to play the guitar. It touches the guitar but does not support the neck.
Curved part of the guitar body on right leg
To begin the proper way to hold the guitar, place the guitar on your right leg, the curved part of the guitar on your leg. The guitar should be parallel to the floor, or with a slight angle up (the neck being slightly higher). The face or top of the guitar should be facing out and almost at right angles with the floor.
Elevate the right leg
In my studio I use classical guitar footstools, but anything will do. If you live in a large city, yellow pages are ideal. Raising the right leg, with the knee slightly higher than the hip, causes the guitar to stay put and not slide off the leg.
Believe it or not this is a big problem with beginners. They find the guitar slipping away on them and moving as they attempt to play. You cannot concentrate on your technique when you are struggling to hold onto your guitar.

Right upper arm presses against body of guitar
The top of the right arm presses against the end of the body of the guitar, pressing it onto the right leg. It's important to find a guitar that is the right size, for this may be difficult if your guitar is too big. The right hand should still be able to reach over the sound hole, when you begin to play.
Right forearm presses against the face of the guitar
The right forearm presses firmly against the top or face of the guitar. All the pressing is done very close to the elbow. Just before the bend, presses the guitar against your leg. Just after the bend presses the guitar against your body.
The grip test
Without your left hand touching the guitar at all, have someone push on the front of your guitar neck very slightly, to see if they can make your guitar wobble on your lap. If it moves slightly but doesn't really wobble, you've probably got a good grip. If it wobbles. Keep trying, you haven't got it yet.
Left hand grip must be loose
To be really successful at playing the guitar, you must have a loose grip with your left hand. Without a good proper grip on your guitar, this is impossible. Too many people make up for a good grip by holding the guitar up with their left hand.
To review the three spots where you hold the guitar
Your guitar is all held by the right leg, being elevated, and the right arm holding the guitar firmly both against your leg and then against your body. Lean into the guitar ever so slightly. The guitar should be at almost right angles with the floor. You should be looking down across the neck and down over the strings all in a nice line, one on top of another.
So, that is the proper way to hold an acoustic guitar in the seating position. Do yourself a favour, when you are first learning guitar and get it right. Everything else will come so much easier when you take care of this at the beginning. Happy guitar playing!
